LabelRouter is a micro PC appliance designed for small to large production environments where barcode labeling is required. It plugs into your network and makes it easy to manage and print barcode labels for your manufacturing or distribution applications. Label formats are stored in one location on your server for easy maintenance and consistency. Data is merged with the appropriate format by the LabelRouter at the time of printing.
Minimal configuration required and no software to install. Just add the LabelRouter to your network and then with a browser interface simply configure the LabelRouter for your environment. Add printers and formats, setup the host ip, host directory, and the variable tag, and it is ready to go.
There is no need to upload all your formats to each printer. Formats are stored in a single location. This makes it easy to modify formats and put into production quickly.
A mixture of printer makes and models is supported.
If a printer fails, just replace the printer, and you are back online immediately.
If a LabelRouter appliance fails, replace it with your development/backup LabelRouter; upload the offline configuration file and it is ready to go.
Data files use an XML format. This is a simple text file that can be generated by the company's ERP system, a home-grown application, or any 3rd-party application. The files can be written by any means, in any language. Files are just “dropped” into the configured directory on your server and LabelRouter handles the rest.
Ad hoc labels can be created on demand from the browser interface.
The merged format and data are stored in a file that can be used to reprint the label anytime. There is no need to re-run a transaction.
Labels that are not printed can be viewed in the LabelRouter log to determine the cause of failure.
A data file can contain multiple labels (batch printing).
LabelRouter can be taken off-line while label generation continues. When the LabelRouter is brought back on line, it will print the backlog.
Printing to thermal barcode printers or postscript printers is supported.
can have 1 format that is used by different makes of printers.
